LEYLINE Agent Handbook (public facing)
Welcome, agent. This guide covers everything from first sign in to raising your first field.
1. Enlist
Download the app, pick a codename and choose a faction: The Concord (cyan, stabilise), The Emberwake (amber, accelerate) or The Verdant Choir (green, restore). The choice is permanent, so read the faction primer in app.
2. Read the map
The Field tab shows the world around your real position. Dots are Nodes: grey ones are unclaimed, coloured ones are held. Lines are Links and shaded triangles are Fields. Violet grey means The Static, the corruption that claims neglected ground. Walk to within 45 metres of a node to interact with it.
3. Harvest
Tap a node and Harvest. You gain Lumen (energy) plus anchors and pulses matched to the node's level, and usually the node's Key. Each node cools down for five minutes per agent between harvests.
4. Capture and build
On an unclaimed node, Deploy an anchor to capture it for your faction. A node holds eight anchors; more and higher level anchors mean a stronger, higher level node. Recharge friendly nodes with Lumen in person, or from anywhere if you hold the node's Key.
5. Fight
On an enemy node, fire Pulses to destroy its anchors. Clear all eight and the node falls neutral, ready to capture, and its links and fields collapse. Static nodes work the same way but purging them pays double XP. Purge the grey.
6. Link and field
Stand at a friendly node, choose Link from here, then pick a friendly target whose Key you hold. When three links close a triangle, a Field rises. Fields score Reach, measured in square kilometres, for your faction, globally and in your region. Reach is the score that matters.
7. Nominate
See a spot that deserves to be a node? Public art, landmarks, trail markers, community spaces. Stand there, open the Nominate tab, describe it and submit. A human reviews every nomination.
8. Watch the world
The public intel map shows every node, link and field live, plus the Static Pressure gauge. When the gauge climbs, the world needs you outside.
Etiquette and safety
Never trespass, never play while driving, respect other people and places. Nodes never require entering private or dangerous ground; report any that seem to.
